Executive Summary
Major General (Dr) GG Dwivedi, SM, VSM & Bar retired as Assistant Chief Integrated Defence Staff, in 2009 after 38 years of distinguished service in the Army (Infantry). A Veteran of Bangladesh War, he later commanded Battalion in Siachen, Brigade in Kashmir Valley and Division in the North East. Besides he served as Defence Attaché in China, North Korea and Mongolia. An alumnus of National Defence College, Harvard Kennedy School, he has Ph D from JNU, besides Dual M Phil, MBA and Interpretership in Chinese. From 2013-17, he was Professor and Founder Chair, Faculty of International Studies, Aligarh Muslim University. Presently, he is an Adjunct/Visiting Professor at leading Institutions including Indian Institute Management Jammu and Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management and Central Universities; additionally Distinguished/ Senior Fellow at United Services Institution of India and Alon Ben-Meir Center New York. An acclaimed writer (authored six books and over 200 articles in leading journals and dailies) and speaker, he regularly appears as a panellist on the national TV.
